2022.01.20 13:22 Ok_Potato9704 How do I Make my Memes Screen Reader Friendly?
Hi! This is my first post here. I was hoping for tips on writing alt text for my memes when I post on Facebook. I've done some classes on accessibility but they didn't cover social media. Anyways, I manage a couple pages and want to make sure the content is screen reader friendly. Should I Just put the text description above each meme? Or is there a way for me to use software on my computer to see how it's read, so it doesn't get confused with the automatic underlying text from facebook?

2022.01.20 13:22 destroynd 2nd and 3rd sessions back2back, Kurikara Dragon Sword backpiece - Monji at Flyrite Tattoo, NYC
progress after the 3rd session
side angle after 3rd session
progress after 2nd session
I was able to schedule 2 sessions in 2 days with Monji. I am traveling from the greater Washington DC area which means a 4-5 hour bus ride one way. For my first session my girlfriend and I went up and back in one day. I plan on sticking with 2 days of tattooing from now on.
We made a lot of progress and I proved to myself that I can sit well. I also love NYC to it's nice to be able to spend time in a part of it that I haven't visited much. I grew up in NY state and have always be enamored with the city, so this journey is more than just about the tattoo.
I really love what Monji did with the flames, how they follow the dragon body gives them direction and depth. I am very excited to see how they look with background and color.
My next trip we will finish the dragon body and start the scales, and then the next we will finish the scales and start shading with tebori.

2022.01.20 13:22 manic_panic Allura siding issues & questions
We got Allura lap siding delivered to the job site, set up a partial tent and painted it. It started raining a few hours later, and kept raining torrents for hours.
Several pieces were laid out on the grass and got soaked, paint washed away etc.
Then, the weather fell below zero that night and got windy. The tent collapsed, several pieces broke. I haven’t even looked at the ones on the grass this morning 🤦🏻♀️
So my pieces are super comprised. Can I still install?

2022.01.20 13:22 andenine PSA: if you want to improve your mixing, mix drum n bass.
The super deep low frequency, the need for dramatic filters, and the super quick transients make you learn EQ and dynamics in a way you can’t with other genres.
I produce and mix for a library that has every conceivable genre, and approaching any of these genres from a DNB perspective has never let me down in a bake off.
Watch some YouTube videos on it, these know how to conquer low end like nobody else.

2022.01.20 13:22 jd991 Best things to skill build to leave a "Golden handcuffs" type position?
There is a TLDR at the bottom since I think I got a bit wordy. I'm a 35 year old developer with ~12 years of professional experience in kind of a unique position. Early on in my career I did well enough that my responsibilities kept expanding to the point where I am one of two SMEs on a software product that is a crucial part of running a somewhat important government program. The company I originally worked for went under and over last 5 years the two companies who have subsequently gotten the maintenance contracts for the program have created positions for me and the other engineer every time the contract is moved and I could probably ride this project out for another 10 years or so if I chose to, based on the expected project lifespan.
The stress level of my job is extremely low, I'm expected to fix 1-2 issues a month and the average time per issue is probably a couple of days. I'm also full time WFH, highly paid for a non FAANG job (165k salary w/ decent benefits), and management is extremely happy with my performance considering their rock bottom expectations. The biggest downside is that my skills are absolutely wasting away, it's a maintenance contract so there is no desire to overhaul things that generally work, and we are locked into 10 year old versions of java and c++ and we aren't really working with any technology thats newer than that.
I'm starting to get to a point where the lack of challenge and accomplishment is getting to me, but I also don't think my skills stack up favorably at all with respect to the current market. I had a brief period of unemployment during one of the contract transitions that I used to do some Coursera courses on unfamiliar technology (mostly getting an intro to AWS/GCP) and played with leet code, but the coursera courses were all extremely basic and grinding leetcode seems pointless for anything other than being able to regurgitate it in interviews. I don't have any particular affinity for any specific technologies, most of my experience is with c++/java/python, and I definitely prefer back end to front end, but I'm at a bit of a loss as to what technologies I should be targeting to brush up on and what resources I should be using.
TLDR: I've kind of wasted the last ~5 years of my 12 year career building no new useful skills. Early in my career I considered myself an above average programmer with good supplemental skills in design, requirements analysis, team leadership, etc, but I've now spent almost 1/2 my career doing bug fixes on old technology for a very niche use case. I'd like to figure out the best resources to get up to date on useful technologies to learn so I can be a competitive candidate when I decide to get back on the job market. I'd also prefer to get out of the government/defense sphere if possible, while retaining the ability to be fully remote.
